On Friday, August 15, at approximately 7:47 p.m., a Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) member on patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a fast rate of speed eastbound on Grey Rd. 18 in the Municipality of Meaford.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. After failing a road side breath test, the driver was taken to the Meaford Detachment for further breath tests.
A 40 year old Town of the Blue Mountains nman was charged with driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. He was also charged for speeding 122 km/h in an 80 km/h zone under the Highway Traffic Act.
A court date has been scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2014 in Owen Sound.
