Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
I am writing to say a BIG THANK YOU to all the residents, family and friends of the Municipality of Meaford who came out in support of the RE-Use & ECO Fair on Saturday April 18th, 2015.
We couldn’t have done it without all of the amazing volunteers who gave up their Saturday to help with this great community event. Volunteers helped with everything from sorting & weighing incoming goods to greeting people as they arrived, to helping children get messy in the “Living Room” planting seeds to take home.
We also send out a sincere thank you to all who took their time to look over the wish list and find items in their homes to donate to the 14 local community groups that received them. If it wasn’t for our generous citizens this event wouldn’t be the great success that is.
After all the goods were packaged and weighed, a total of 1791.2 pounds of goods, in 100 boxes exchanged hands! An increase of 225 lbs from last year!!
A big thank you goes out to all of our local non-profit groups and Retail Vendors who participated in the ECO Fair portion of the event. It was a great way to network with like-minded individuals, and the energy was abundant.
We would also like to thank the Municipality of Meaford and Amber Knott, Recreation Programs Supervisor, for the support and trust that they have given us in the entire Earth Week initiative and the RE-Use & ECO-Fair.
Thank you once again to everyone who participated in anyway, we hope to see you all again next year!!
Sincerest Regards,
Earth Week Organizing Committee Members,
Jenean Lush,
Lindy Iversen,
