Members of the community who share interest or concern with the future of Meaford’s schools are invited to attend a meeting on Wednesday, April 22 at the Meaford Golf and Country Club starting at 7pm.
Inevitably Meaford will see changes in the future including school closures with our current student population and three schools to upkeep.
“This first meeting we will share what we know, what we see, and discuss where we go from here. Our group is not yet a formal one and is seeking input, ideas, and interest for committees as needed. Our goal is to proactively create a positive, knowledgeable, and inclusive proposal and solution to be presented to the Bluewater District School Board,” advised meeting organizers.
The Ministry of Education has recently released new guidelines for School Accommodation Reviews which includes the requirement to hear from communities.
“This represents a wonderful opportunity for Meaford to show support for our teachers, students, and the future of our community. Education and programming are a vital part to the sustainability of Meaford now and for future generations,” said organizers.
