Annual Meaford Fire Department Open House Set For October 12

Staff

The Meaford and District Fire Department will once again be opening their doors the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend for their annual open house.

On Saturday October 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Fire Hall at 81 Stewart Street will open its doors to the community. This is your chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at our firefighting equipment, and take part in fun activities for the whole family. The day will feature an obstacle course, truck tours, a hose target, fire extinguisher training, and more. Grey County EMS, OPP, the Canadian Coast Guard, and Canadian Armed Forces will also be joining in on the fun.

The open house is a great day to come and meet our firefighter family, see what we’re all about, have fun, and get some great safety information.” said Fire Chief John deHooge.

A BBQ lunch will be served, with donations being accepted towards the purchase of an ATV for remote rescues.
