In 2007 the Drive Fore Teens Golf Tournament was held for the first time to help fund the Winter Safe Driving Program. Over the past 12 years we have been fortunate to have had the support from many local residents and businesses, who have helped over 300 local high school students to participate in the Winter Safe Driving Program. The Pursuits Program at Georgian Bay Community School also has received financial support from the golf tournament over the years.
The Meaford Golf Club and the Drive Fore Teens program would like to thank all of our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and everyone that donated their time and money to our program these past 12 years.
A special thanks goes out to the Howson Driving School from Sault St. Marie that has run the driving program since 2007. Thanks also to the Town of Meaford and the Town of the Blue Mountains for helping to organize our program every year and for providing the arena in Thornbury for the program.
With the new technology in automobiles now, it has been decided that the program would not be beneficial to be run anymore.
We say again thanks – we live in a great community!
