The sun was shining brightly as members of the new Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee, Library Board and Staff, and Municipal Staff gathered to accept a $5,000 donation from Meridian Credit Union.
Jeff Brown, Senior Relationship Manager at Meridian Credit Union, was on hand to present the cheque. “We at Meridian Credit Union are pleased to support important initiatives in local communities like Meaford and are happy that we can contribute to the new Meaford Public Library building.”
Peter Bantock, chair of the Fundraising Committee, commented at the cheque presentation, “Having support from the Meaford Business Community, as evidenced by this generous donation, is a great boost to the library campaign. We are very grateful to Meridian Credit Union for its gift.”
This contribution brings the total amount raised to over $400,000 – well on the way to the goal of $750,000.
