The Meaford Knights may have lost their first playoff game, but they won the hearts of many youngsters on Friday, February 22.
The Knights had the St Vincent Euphrasia Elementary school choir out on the ice to perform the national anthem, a group consisting of 60 kids, ranging from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3.
The Knights gave students free admission to the game and also provided one ticket to allow a parent or guardian to watch the event. Large numbers of parents, grandparents, and friends came out to support the kids. The energy from the students was electric during their warm up in the Meaford Community Centre, just beside the arena, and the students were absolutely thrilled to step out onto the ice, surrounded b, and fist-bumped by the Knights hockey team.
All students are congratulated for their beautiful singing and for representing their school and community so well. SVE students and staff wish to offer many thanks to the Meaford Knights for providing this opportunity for the children.
