On February 12, at approximately 9:54 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a possible impaired driver after the involved vehicle was seen leaving a restaurant on Sykes Street South in the Municipality of Meaford.
A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle parked on St. Vincent Street in Meaford with the driver inside. The driver, who had been drinking, registered a ‘fail’ on the approved roadside screening device. Further breath tests were conducted, which she failed.
A 42-year-old Meaford woman was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and drive vehicle with cannabis readily available.
She is to appear in court in Owen Sound on February 28 to answer to the charges.
