GBHU Seeking Public’s Assistance After Dog Bite

grey bruce health unit270The Grey Bruce Health Unit is seeking assistance from the public in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident that occurred in Meaford.

On Friday, July 6, at approximately 12 noon, a man was bitten by a large black male dog of unknown mixed breed. The dog was tied to a pole outside the Rexall Pharmacy, 54 Sykes Street North, in Meaford. The dog was wearing a collar and leash.

Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies. By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
