Have you ever wanted to bring your dog with you for a nice day on the links? You can have that opportunity on Sunday, June 10 at 2 p.m., at the Stone Tree Golf Fitness Banquets (318087 Hwy 6&10, Owen Sound), where a nine-hole fundraising tournament benefiting the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter will be held.
The $70 fee includes nine holes, a BBQ, and a loot bag. Golf carts are available for an additional $10 per person. A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.
And the best part? Leashed dogs that get along with canine friends are welcome to accompany you! Dog treats and poop bags will be provided and water stations will be set up along the course.
“We know that many golf enthusiasts would love to bring their pooch along for a round but in ‘normal’ circumstances, it just isn’t feasible. For this event, it is,” said Bill Stewart, Director of Golf Operations at Stone Tree.
Golfers must register at the golf course prior to the event. The registration form is available at Stone Tree or on the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter website (www.grey-bruceanimalshelter.com. Various sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $400 are available (for example, hole sponsors, longest drive, etc.). Individuals and companies wishing to be a sponsor should contact Shannon Deckers (Shannon@shannondeckers.com) or 519-375-5120.
