Overnight on Thursday August 10, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police were responding to an ongoing incident at a Pearson Street residence in which a man had barricaded himself along with three others.
At 12:45 am police issued a notice that sections of Pearson, Trowbridge, and Berry Streets had been closed and they asked the public to avoid the area.
A second notice issued at 3:25 am informed that the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the West Region Tactics and Rescue Units (TRU) and the West Region Crisis Negotiation Team had been called in to assist with the investigation, and the surrounding streets remained closed.
Police say that at 4:45 am, the incident was resolved peacefully after the four people inside the residence surrendered to police. Three of the four were released unconditionally while the fourth person, a 31 year old Meaford man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with several offences:
