On Thursday, May 18, the Meaford Ladies 18 Hole Club was able to play their first game of the new season. Even though it was a fine summer-like day, there were plenty of wet spots from on the course due to our rainy spring.
“Nineteen ladies teed off at the Meaford Golf and Country club. We were happy to welcome four new members and look forward to getting to know them,” said organizers. “Convenors Bev Reed and Doris George hosted the GAO day, counting all our strokes.”
Highlights of the game were: a 99 score by new member Carolyn Wedgebury, low putts by Sue Macdougald, a birdie on Randle 5 by Cathy Seidle, and a large snapping turtle near the Randle 5 green.
Parts of the course are currently under construction so there were some additional challenges, but all in all, organizers report a fun time was had by all.
There is still time to join. Call President Marge Allin 519-538-2028.
