The women’s choir known as the Goldenaires has a half century history in Meaford, with women from communities in the area meeting weekly to practise.
This year the Goldenaires’ spring concert is Sunday, April 30 at 2:30. The venue is Meaford United Church and admission is by donation.
The theme of the concert is Coming Home. Director Catherine Robertson says, “The concert will showcase many Canadian composers and musicians – a fitting focus for Canada’s 150th anniversary.”
Besides the choir, special guests include step dancers, a bag piper, a children’s string ensemble, a drummer, and other musicians.
“This is truly a community concert, and the proceeds will support children’s music programs in local schools. Come out for an enjoyable afternoon of music,” suggest organizers.
