Do you have expertise, experience or energy to share? Are you looking for a way to make a contribution to the Municipality of Meaford? There is a call out for volunteers to participate on advisory committees and other municipal boards.
Applications are available online at www.meaford.ca or can be picked up at the Municipal office at 21 Trowbridge Street West. The deadline for application is Monday, January 19, 2015 at 4 p.m. Completed forms can be submitted to the attention of the Clerk, Robert Tremblay.
The following is a detailed chart that indicates a description of each board and advisory committee, the number of members and the frequency of the meetings.
Accessibility The Advisory Committee is responsible for fulfilling the duties outlined under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act by providing advice to Council and staff on the removal of barriers associated with municipal programs, services and policies. Required: 4 individuals with 3 who self-identify as having a disability Meetings: 6 times per year |
Economic Development The Advisory Committee is a collaborative forum for discussion of economic development ideas, opportunities, and matters of common interest in the Municipality of Meaford. Required: 1 community organization representative; 1 representative from the agribusiness sector Meetings: 6 times per year |

Heritage The Advisory Committee is to advise and assist Council on Ontario Heritage Act matters, including major heritage permits in the Downtown Meaford Heritage Conservation District. Required: 4 individuals with built heritage, local history, architecture, and planning experience, as well as knowledge of legislation, the district plan and guidelines Meetings: as required, at least 2 per year. |
Meaford Museum The Advisory Committee is to advise and assist staff and Council on matters relating to the Meaford Museum, specifically its collection, programs and services. Required: 6 individuals Meetings: 6 times per year |

Committee of Adjustment The Committee reviews applications for consents and zoning minor variances. Required: 5 individuals with experience pertaining to one or more of the following: planning, law, and geography Meetings: approximately 8 times per year |

Bognor Hall The Hall Board is responsible for the operation of this community facility, including bookings. Meetings: monthly, Tues. at 7:30 p.m. |
Riverside Hall The Hall Board is responsible for the operation of this community facility, including bookings. Meetings: monthly, Wed. at 7 p.m. |
