We were too late, we thought, to book the Autumn train trip through the Forks of the Credit. With the benefit of hindsight in seeing how late the beautiful fall colours are this year, we probably could have managed it, however it was decided that since Grey County is so beautiful, we would take advantage of seeing our own natural beauty and do a car rally.
Member Jim Dunham stepped up to the plate and volunteered to chart the course. The conclusion of the rally was at Harrison Park Inn where we all enjoyed a lovely lunch and fellowship. The winner of the 12-car Rally was ‘Hobson’s Hot-rod’. Driver was the Club President David Hobson and passengers Glenda Pearson, Marlene Pender, and Barb Russell.
At our regular meeting time of 2 p.m. October 11, we welcomed speaker Barbara MacDonald of Bill’s Valu-Mart on Hwy. 26. Barb was terrific. We were all very appreciative of her presentation. She gave us shoppers many shopping tips on how to interpret the various signage of items on sale. She also mentioned a new juicer the store has where fresh produce is juiced and bottled. The juice is currently on display in the produce section near the fresh berries. Watch for an exciting new promotion in the coming weeks.
