Sykes Street Drug Bust Nets Cocaine, Ecstasy, Pot & Counterfeit Cash

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of West Region Emergency Response Team, West Region Canine, and Grey County OPP, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a property on Sykes Street in Meaford on September 9. 

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized cocaine, psilocybin, MDMA (ecstasy), cannabis marijuana, and trafficking paraphernalia. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances was $6,690.00.  Police also seized $500.00 in Canadian counterfeit currency.                                                                                                               

A 39 year old Essa Township man, and a 26 year old Meaford woman were both arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking, possession of psilocybin for the purposes of trafficking, possession of MDMA (ecstasy) for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis marihuana, and possession of counterfeit currency.

They were both held in custody for Show Cause Hearings on September 10, 2014.
