Senior Men’s Golf League Underway

Staff

The Meaford Senior Men’s Golf League played their first game of the season on Tuesday, May 3. Conditions at the Meaford Golf and Country Club were excellent for early May. Even the weather co-operated with sunny skies and light breezes.

While many members have a lot of rust to scrape off after the winter layoff, there were some notable exceptions. John McGee posted a gross 76 while four other golfers shot gross scores in the 80s. Milt Edwards was the top ‘Super Senior’. Ron Hall and John Dick won the two ‘closest to the pin’ prizes, and Peter Zahradnik won the ‘closest to the rope’ prize.

The Meaford Senior Men’s Golf League is a friendly group of seniors with a wide range of golf abilities who play at the Meaford Golf and Country Club every Tuesday morning. Anyone interested in joining should call Jack Peckitt at 519-599-6104.
