opp logo270Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) urge residents to use caution when dealing with unsolicited service offers using the face-to-face approach.

“If someone comes to your door, ask to see some identification. Remember, you do not have to let them in, and they must leave if you ask them to. Before you decide to pay any money, if you are interested in what a door-to-door salesperson has to offer, take the time to find out about their business and their offer,” advised the OPP.

On April 23, an unknown male attended a Pearson Street residence in the Municipality of Meaford wanting to sell the home owner new water filters. No product or monies were exchanged. The suspect male was described as being Caucasian, approximately 5’10” tall and 160 lbs.
