The Municipality of Meaford has been successful in their bid to receive funding through the New Horizons for Seniors Grant for programming at Meaford Hall.

Service Canada informed the Municipality of Meaford that they have been awarded $10,539 under the New Horizons for Seniors grant program to use towards initiatives that “encourage new and emerging seniors to be actively involved in their community; share knowledge, skills and experience with others; reach out to the socially isolated for inclusion in community programs; inter-generational learning and relationship building programs and initiatives; senior sharing best practices.”

We are very excited for our seniors’ programming this year,” said Susan Lake, manager of Arts and Cultural Services at Meaford Hall. “We will be hosting an expanded speaker series beginning in the fall, and will also have art classes for children taught by seniors in addition to relaunching our popular Family Fun Nights.”

The Municipality of Meaford also offers programming geared towards seniors through the Meaford Public Library, Meaford Museum, and Recreation programming.
