The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce Employment Services and the Municipality of Meaford have partnered together to host the Meaford and Area Job Fair. The Job Fair will be held on Thursday, April 21 from 2 to 6 pm at the Meaford and St. Vincent Community Centre, 115 Collingwood Street West, Meaford. This event is free and open to the public.
A variety of Meaford employers will be on site offering full-time, part-time, student and seasonal positions. Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet and speak with local employers who are hiring, gather career information, create contacts through networking, and discover employment services available in their community.

Organizers have offered some tips for those planning to attend the job fair:

Prepare your resume ahead of time and bring extra copies

Present yourself in a professional manner

Practise your introduction – first impressions can make or break you

Be optimistic and have realistic expectations

Create a list of questions you’d like to ask the employer

Be prepared to answer questions such as “what are your skills” and “why do you want to work for our company”
