Chamber Members Can Learn How to Protect Their Businesses

Staff

The Meaford Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Meaford OPP detachment to present a seminar on crime prevention for local businesses.

The seminar will be held at the Meaford Community Centre on March 15 at 7:15 p.m., and is free to Chamber members.

The talk will be presented by P.C. Melissa Barfoot, the OPP School Liaison Officer. It will encompass robbery prevention, organized crime, theft, and shoplifting, as well as how to crime-proof your premises through site design and setup.

The presentation will last approximately 45 minutes and afterward Officer Barfoot will open the floor to questions. She will also be distributing crime prevention kits to all attendees.

As an addendum there will be a very short outline, with a handout, of how to get the most from today’s security and surveillance systems, presented by Bill Monahan of HomeButtons Electronics, a Meaford Chamber member.

There is a capacity for only 30 attendees on a first-come, first-served basis, so members are encouraged to sign up at the Chamber office at their earliest opportunity. Call 519-538-1640 or email info@meafordchamber.ca.
