Meaford Woman Charged With Obstructing Police

opp logo270On February 25, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a woman for obstructing police after she continued to interfere and obstruct officers in the lawful performance of their duties at a rural property in the Municipality of Meaford.

Grey County OPP attended a property on the 1st Concession in the Municipality of Meaford to stand by and keep the peace at the request of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA).  The OSPCA had a warrant to access the property for the purpose of inspecting the premises as well as all animals found on the property as to any evidence of distress.

The woman, who had been repeatedly warned by police not to impede or obstruct officers during the execution of the warrant, was arrested after she failed to comply.

The 26-year old Meaford woman was charged with obstructing police. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 24, in Owen Sound.
