On Saturday, March 5 from 11 am to 2 pm, Meaford’s first How-To Festival will be held at Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre. It’s free for anyone to attend.
The event makes learning new and useful skills easy, fun, and free. Stations will offer a 10-minute information session to quickly teach you new skills.
“Ever want to learn something new? Maybe a skill you’ve wanted to pick up but never had the time? Well, come out to the How-To Festival!” suggests the library.
Some of the demonstrations include:
-
Dan White from Desjardins Financial will demonstrate how to create a cash flow.
-
Karen Wilson will teach how to emboss paper and other card making techniques.
Erin Shepherd from the Meaford Farmers’ Market will demonstrate knife skills. -
Meaford Creative Arts Association will give painting demonstrations.
-
Lynne Fascinato from the Meaford Public Library will be demonstrating the library’s e-resources including free ebooks and emagazines as well as how to order books and other items from the comfort of your home.
The How-To Festival is a partnership between the Meaford Public Library and the Meaford Chamber of Commerce. This free event is a great way to learn something new and allows our local businesses, organizations, and groups to promote themselves.
