Police Arrest Two Youths in Connection to Series of Break-ins, 37 Charges Laid

opp logo270Grey County Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two male youths in connection to several garage and shed break-ins in the Municipality of Meaford. 

Since February 9, 2016, Grey County OPP have investigated seven separate break-ins to garages and or sheds on Henry Street, Denmark Street, Paul Street and Margaret Street in the Town of Meaford.  Stolen property included beer and cigarettes.

The ongoing investigation lead to the arrest of two Meaford youths, both 13 years of age, who together face a total of 37 charges.  The offences include: break and enter, theft under, mischief under and possession of marijuana.

They are scheduled to appear in court on March 22, 2016.

“Crime prevention starts with you. The OPP urge residents to report any suspicious person(s), vehicles or activity immediately,” said police.
