As February is the month for love, the Meaford Public Library is pleased to announce that this February will be Love Your Library Month. To celebrate, the library has a bunch of fun events planned.
“First and foremost, we would love to hear why you love your library. Fill out a card to tell us what makes the library special for you. We will post your comments and enter your name into a draw to win a bag of books – maybe you’ll find a new author to fall in love with!” said the library.
Check out the return of the photo booth – with a Valentine twist. Dress up in a funny hat or glasses and pose for a photo to show us that you Love Your Library.
There are some great events planned for Love Your Library Month.
A Valentine-themed Story Time in the Junior Library on Wednesday, February 17 at 10:30 features a special guest. Then on Thursday, February 11, from 6 to 7:15 pm, the Canadian Parents for French will host la fete de la Saint-Valentin (St. Valentine Party) in the Junior Library. Preregistration is required, $5/family.
Learn how to make a beautiful Valentine Card on Thursday, February 11 at 12 noon during the Pop-Up Valentine Card workshop. Cost is $5 and space is limited to register in advance at the Library.
The Friends of the Meaford Library will have a display of book bundles. Buy a bundle for $3 – the proceeds will help support both the Friends and the Meaford Public Library’s collection.
In the Junior Library, check out a bundle of friendship-themed books and share your love of reading with a special one. Children and teens can also post comments about how they love their library in the Junior Library for a chance to win a gift bag.
Plus, check out our library displays for books, audiobooks, movies and more – all on the theme of love. Perhaps you’ll discover a new author or series during Love Your Library Month.
