On the afternoon of Thursday, January 7, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break, enter and theft from a residence on Hwy. 26, in the former Sydenham Township, in the Municipality of Meaford in which several firearms were stolen.
Sometime between Tuesday, January 5 and Thursday, January 7, 2016, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the residence and removed a number of items including a gun vault containing four firearms.
The firearms are described as follows:
– Remington 1100 semi-automatic 12 GA shotgun
– Remington 7400 .270 caliber rifle
– Remington Magnum 7mm rifle
– Cooey Bolt Action .22 caliber rifle
In addition to the stolen firearms, a large quantity of moose meat and a flat screen T.V. was taken.
