On Monday, December 14, at approximately 9:42 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in and theft from the Scenic City Golf Course located on Hwy. 26 in the Municipality of Meaford.
Sometime overnight on Sunday, December 13, unknown person(s) forcibly entered the main club house of the business. Once inside, the office was forcibly entered where the culprit(s) proceeded to remove a steel safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
The safe, measuring approximately 18 x 18 x 24 in diameter and green in colour, had been anchored to the floor. In addition to the safe, several bottles of liquor and three cases of beer were also taken. A golf bag trolley was used to move the stolen items to a vehicle parked on the south side of Hwy. 26, just west of the business.
Grey County OPP, with the assistance of the Grey County Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit, Mount Forest, continue to investigate this incident and ask anyone with information which may assist to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
