365 Sports Inc., the global media and events company based out of Meaford, will kick off the national tour of its latest events series, the Urban Slide Canada, right here at home in 2016. This event will boast the world’s longest Canadian-owned slip n’ slide with 1,000 feet of slippery fun.
“We have acquired full Canadian rights to this event and will operate it independently for the national market,” said Jesse Fulton, president of 365 Sports Inc. “This event promotes getting outside and having the best time ever with your friends and/or family. We are all about fun events and this fell in line with our catalogue of event properties,” he added.
The Urban Slide will be in Meaford on July 9, and will run down the Nelson Street Hill.
The Urban Slide Canada is a family-friendly event open to all ages and abilities and will include a festival area complete with a beer garden, good food, the slide of course, and music all day long. Participants would be provided with a variety of access options from a one-time ticket to an all-day pass. Historically, the event has been held in highly populated and major cities but 365 Sports is changing that dynamic and focusing on smaller municipalities as the hosts for its first year. Six stops are slated to be held in Ontario before a national cross-country tour in 2017.
“We are all about event quality and accessibility. With the majority of interactive events already focusing on the major markets, we wanted to change it up and felt that operating these events in smaller municipalities would keep it just as fun, while having the ability to work closely with the towns to create a better course and an even better experience,” Fulton said.
The Urban Slide Canada has a charity component that will focus on supporting local communities and contributing to organizations specific to each municipality that the slide visits.
