The Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) has supported local healthcare with a donation of $40,000 to local healthcare facilities. Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker joined Madi Murariu over the past few days to distribute $5,000 cheques to local representatives of each facility.

“I thank the IBC for their generous gift that will play a big role in providing better health care services to residents in Bruce and Grey,” MPP Walker said.

“From improving cancer care for patients to upgrading operating rooms and purchasing new equipment, there is never a shortage of possibilities for donations like this one,” he said. “Ultimately, this money will help each organization reach its capital campaign fundraising target sooner, and for that we’re extremely grateful.”

The recipients of the IBC’s donations are the Meaford Hospital Foundation; Tobermory Health Services Auxiliary; Grey Bruce Health Services (Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation – Lion’s Head and Wiarton hospitals; Owen Sound Hospital Foundation, and Centre Grey Health Services Foundation – Markdale); South Bruce Grey Health Centre (Chesley & District Health Services Foundation and Durham & Community Health Care Foundation), and Hanover & District Hospital Foundation.
