Join The Meaford Public Library Board of Trustees

The Meaford Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking up to three additional members appointed by municipal council. The position runs concurrently with the municipal council term.

Board members set policies that guide the administration of the library and ensure that the unique needs for library services in the community are met. Library Board Trustees align themselves with the vision and mission of the Meaford Public Library.

Various requirements for the position include:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen; minimum 18 years of age

  • Must be an eligible elector of the Municipality of Meaford for which the Library Board has been established

  • Must not be employed by the Library Board or the Municipality of Meaford

  • Volunteer position, therefore no remuneration; allowable expenses only

Experience and knowledge in the fields of finance, legal and fundraising are considered an asset.

Members appointed must be prepared for 5-6 hours a month for this commitment and attend 10 regular board meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m.
