The Rotary Club of Meaford is pleased to open nominations for Rotary’s 29^th annual “Citizen of the Year” award. Sheila Carmichael was our recipient for the 2009 Award.

Please submit your written nominations to The Rotary Club of Meaford, P.O. Box 3229, Meaford, Ontario N4L 1A5 or email your nominations to rickg14@bell.net by no later than March 7, 2011.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:

1. The candidate(s) contributed to a community activity or activities in the immediate past calendar year (2010).

2. The candidate(s) resides in the geographical area of the Municipality of Meaford.

3. Rotarians and their immediate families are not eligible for nomination.

4. The activity or activities that support the nomination are voluntary in nature and not part of the candidate’s occupation or job description. The candidate receives no remuneration or other valuable consideration for such activity or activities.

5. The nature of the activity or activities involve one or more of the following guidelines:

   1. Provides a benefit to our community,

   2. Brings credit or distinction to our community,

   3. Enhances life in our community, and

   4. Represents an effort over and above normal volunteer work.

   5. The candidate may be an individual, a couple who are partners, or a close knit, coherent and readily identifiable group of individuals, other than organizations such as Service Clubs
