On Wednesday, August 5, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a theft from a vehicle report in the Municipality of Meaford.
Sometime between 2:00 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. on August 5, unknown person(s) entered an unlocked 2012 Hyundai Accent vehicle parked on Union Street in Meaford. A GPS and a wallet containing $400.00 cash was taken from the vehicle. The wallet, which had been discarded, was located in the area – without the cash.
Grey County OPP remind the public to keep valuables out of plain view and to lock your vehicle, even for short periods of time. These types of thefts are preventable. Remember – “Lock it or Lose it”!
