The Municipality of Meaford has developed three new short educational videos to assist our residents in understanding what can be complex financial topics.
The topics of these videos include:
· The Municipality of Meaford budgeting processes and how the budget is developed
· Property assessments and what they mean for your taxes
· An overview of Development Charges and how they pay for new development
“The videos were developed to highlight Municipal financial functions and explain the most common questions and concerns,” Said Darcy Chapman, Treasurer/Director of Finance. “Undoubtedly, these topics are very complex, however the intent is to provide anyone who has little or no municipal knowledge with a broad understanding of the general nature of Municipal Budgeting, Taxation and Assessment, and Development Charges.”

The 2016 budget process will be beginning in September. It will include three public engagement sessions where members of the public are invited to attend and take part in the budget process:
· Monday, November 9: 7 to 9pm at the Council Chambers
· Monday, November 16: 7 to 9pm at Annan Trinity United Church
· Monday, December 7: 7 to 9pm at Bognor Community Hall
