Meaford Firefighters Recognized

Meaford’s council recognized several members of Meaford’s Fire Department for their continued dedication to improving their knowledge and skills.

At the June 23 council meeting, Mayor Francis Richardson along with Fire Chief Mike Molloy presented framed certificates for completion of various components of the Ontario Fire Marshall’s curriculum.

Chief Molloy told council that the Fire Marshall’s curriculum consists of some 80 subjects, and the exams consist of roughly 150 questions. Though the certification is not mandatory, with the latest certifications Molloy said that 80 percent of Meaford’s volunteer firefighting force are now fully certified.

Those presented with certificates on June 24 were: Deputy Fire Chief Jack Burt, Holly Hynes, Alana Litz, Taylor Wilkie, Bob Pierce, Mike Clark, Dan Gillespie, Mike French, Evan Davis, Dan Carter, Jeff Wright and Jeremy Acres.
