Impressive Showing For Meaford Skaters

On April 12 and 13, thirteen members of the Meaford Skating Club spent the nicest weekend of the early spring season doing what they love – figure skating.

This was the culmination of their season, over which they worked very hard skating eight hours per week including at 6:45 am on Wednesday mornings.

“We are very proud to announce that their diligence has paid off. At the Central Ontario Section Fun Competition these thirteen girls competed against skaters from over 50 clubs and brought home a total of 18 well-earned medals,” said a club representative of the event.

Results are as follows:

Sara Wright: 2^nd free-skate, 2^nd solo dance, 1^st couples dance, 5^th team elements

Alex Falls: 2^nd free-skate, 6^th solo dance, 5^th team elements

Emma Cornelisse: 5^th free-skate, 6^th solo dance, 4^th couples dance, 5^th team elements

Tayah Davies: 1^st free-skate, 1^st couples dance, 3^rd team elements

Olivia Remillard: 3^rd interpretive, 5^th solo dance, 4^th couples dance, 3^rd team elements

Emma Wright: 4^th interpretive, 1^st couples dance, 2^nd team elements

Teagan Davies: 1^st interpretive, 1^st team elements

Caroline Remillard: 5^th interpretive, 6^th solo dance, 4^th team elements

Hannah Knight: 2^nd interpretive, 5^th solo dance, 1^st couples dance, 2^nd team elements

Emma Fulford: 3^rd interpretive, 4^th solo dance, 1^st team elements

Kirstin Knight: 3^rd interpretive, 2^nd team elements

Madi Cornelisse: 6^th interpretive, 4^th solo dance, 4^th team elements
