Tom Thomson Art Gallery Launches Summer Programs

The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is offering young artists the chance to immerse themselves in fun, exploration-based studio art programs this summer at the TOM.

The Saturday TOM Art Club, running July 27, August 10, and August 24, for young artists aged 7 to 13 years old, will include multi-media art activities that take inspiration from the TOM’s current exhibitions and works by Tom Thomson.

The Saturday afternoon sessions will provide a fun and encouraging environment for children to explore art and creativity, taking inspiration from the Gallery’s nationally recognized art collection.

All TOM Art Club Saturday sessions will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with a limit of 15 participants per session. All art materials, including a take-home TOM art smock, are provided for a minimal registration fee of $25 plus HST per child/session. Please contact the TOM by calling 519-376-1932 to sign up for a Saturday Art Club session.

On Sundays, the TOM is inviting families to free Make Art Sundays on July 28, August 4, August 18, and August 25, between 1 and 3 p.m. Parents and children of all ages are welcome into the TOM studio for fun-filled afternoons of hands-on art activities. All materials are included, and no registration is required. Donations to this program are appreciated.

Visit the TOM’s website at www.tomthomson.org to learn more about these summer programs under the ‘education’ section.

We are so excited to offer these learning, exploring, and art-making opportunities through the summer. It’s a great chance for young artists and children to go creative and make the TOM their studio,” sad Aidan Ware, Director and Chief Curator of the TOM.

If you have any questions about the summer programming lineup, please contact Heather McLeese, Curator of Public Projects & Education at the TOM, at 519-376-1932 ext. 5006 or hmcleese@tomthomson.org
