The Meaford International Film Festival (MIFF) has announced it’s special guests for the September 5 screening of the Oscar winning documentary Searching for Sugarman. Sixto Rodriguez’s daughters, Sandra Rodriguez-Kennedy and Regan Rodriguez. The Rodriguez sisters will be discussing their childhood, their father’s career, and the film that made him famous over a Zoom call.
“I am grateful that Sandra and Regan agreed to be my special guests for the evening, because they are able to offer a level of insight into both the film and Rodriguez’s incredible career that is not available elsewhere, making Moonlight MIFF a truly unique experience,” said Anna den Hengst, Artistic Director, MIFF.
Moonlight MIFF is taking place as a drive-in event at the parking lot of the Meaford/St. Vincent Community Centre. Each evening will also have live music from local musician Victoria Yeh and show a short docudrama, John Muir at Trout Hollow, by local filmmaker Amy Phelan. Tickets are $50 per car and available at www.meafordfilmfest.ca
