Rotary Meaford Commits $50,000 Towards Mental Health at Grey Bruce Health Services

While mental illness, including addictions, has become more top of mind for the media and Canadians in general over the past few years, it’s fair to say that most people still don’t have a true understanding of just how big, onerous, and potentially damaging the crisis really is — on both a societal and personal level.

The Meaford Hospital Foundation is very thankful to Rotary Meaford for their outstanding $50,000 commitment to Grey Bruce Health Services Mental Health Department at the Owen Sound Hospital. A plaque has been installed outside the Mental Health Meeting Room, recognizing Rotary Meaford for its important contribution.

The Mental Health & Addictions department includes a wide range of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. There is an acute care psychiatric inpatient unit, a psychogeriatric unit, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit in Owen Sound.

The Inpatient Mental Health Units are located on the 4th floor of the Owen Sound Regional Hospital. The care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from nursing, psychiatry, pharmacy, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, discharge planning, and recreation.
