Verna Hindle was awarded Meaford Rotary Citizen of the Year 2023, at Meaford Canada Day Celebrations. She also received congratulatory certificates from Alex Ruff, MP, and MPP Rick Byers.
Hindle is a longtime resident of the Municipality of Meaford who always takes pride in the community by constantly giving back through volunteerism, information sharing, bringing leadership skills as well as an ability to provide detailed organization and planning.
Rotary’s award winner continues to build good will in our community through involvement with Goldenaires, Golden Town Cruising Club, Meaford United Church, and through food donations to the Events for Life Association. She constantly boosts awareness of local events, businesses, and organizations such as the Meaford Hospital Gift Shop, Good Food Box, Meaford Library, and Meaford Scarecrow Invasion. She has had a long association with Rotary: her father was a proud Rotarian for many years. She and her family hosted foreign exchange students sponsored by Rotary Youth Exchange program.
