Dear Editor,
I spend a lot of time in the nursing home now. I want your readers to know about the unlimited caring, compassion, kindness and affection I have seen there. Sure I have had problems, but I can go to the top to get it dealt with. The food has been excellent, and the residents are treated like real people, not file numbers. Thirty years ago the situation was different with nowhere near this quality. Things have changed.
There is nothing like the pain and frustration of putting a loved one into a nursing home, but few families can provide this kind of care. The PSWs, Nurses, BMOs and even management seem to make each resident feel like they are loved. Yes it hurts, but sometimes it just works.
