Born in Montreal, Quebec, on March 13, 1944, Laurence (Laurie) Thomas Franklin Bennett died in the Bahamas on May 20, 2026. A retired partner of Ernst & Young, Laurie was the son of Colin Emerson Bennett of Meaford and Mary Dorothy Tindale of Toronto.
Laurieleaves his beloved wife Patricia of 60 years and their three children, Suzanne Coates (Scott) of Toronto, Chris (Jelena) of Tiny Township, and Scott (Janet) of Mississauga. Grumpa to cherished grandchildren Michael (Kassandra), Jenna, John, Hailey, Neleah, Nikol, Carmen, and to great-grandchild Freya. Dear brother to sisters Mary Ellen Norwood (Bob) and Cynthia Watson (deceased), and brother-in-law to Dennis Watson, Bob (deceased) and Mary Gower, and Wendy and Peter (deceased) Hogan.
Family will receive friends at Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Ave, Toronto, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Meaford, Ontario at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
