Walker Asks Queen’s Park to Deal With Rural Transportation Woes

queensparkLocal MPP Bill Walker tabled a resolution on Wednesday (Nov. 6) at Queen’s Park to call on the province to strike an all-party committee to study transportation needs in rural and Northern Ontario.

Walker said he is concerned that public transportation is almost nonexistent in communities north of Toronto, which leaves some of his constituents, especially low-income families, people with special needs and the elderly, struggling every day to access essential services, such as travelling to their doctor and other health care appointments, work and volunteer commitments.

Meaford Resident Falls Prey to Microsoft Scam

old phoneOn Wednesday, October 30, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a fraud complaint after a Meaford resident was defrauded of $1836.00 in what is known as the “Microsoft Scam”.

Residents Help OPP With Investigation

Grey County OPP report that on Sunday, October 20 police arrested and charged a Grey Highlands man after he had committed a series of offences in the Municipality of Meaford.

It started on Saturday, October 19, at approximately 8:15 a.m., when police received a report of a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Grey Road 12 and the 7 th Line.
