The Municipality of Meaford has announced the appointment of Amy Cann as the new Director of Development Services, effective June 16.
Amy is a life-long resident of Meaford and brings nearly two decades of experience in planning and development in the South Georgian Bay region. Since 2022, she has served as the Director of Planning and Building Services for Clearview Township, where she led key initiatives in managing growth and development in a rapidly expanding community.
“As a Registered Professional Planner, Amy has been involved in municipal planning since 2007. Her deep knowledge of the region, combined with extensive leadership experience, makes her an excellent addition to our senior leadership team,” said the municipality.
“We are thrilled to welcome Amy to the Municipality of Meaford,” said Shawn Everitt, CAO. “Her expertise, local insight, and passion for community-building will be tremendous assets as she leads our Development Services team through an exciting period of growth.”
Amy herself is equally enthusiastic about this new chapter.
“I am incredibly honoured to join the Municipality of Meaford as the new Director of Development Services,” said Amy Cann. “Having grown up here and watched our community evolve over the years, I am excited to work alongside staff, Council, and residents to shape Meaford’s future in a way that honours our past and reflects our core community values.”
