Mischief At Meaford Arena – $80,000 in Damages

On November 9, 2020 at 10:32 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a mischief that had occurred at Collingwood Street West in Meaford at St. Vincent Community Centre in the Municipality of Meaford.

Municipal staff reported that sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, an unknown suspect(s) accessed the roof of the arena and caused significant damage. The suspect(s) damaged two roof lights and a hood ventilation system was pushed off of its mounts and thrown off of the roof, smashing on the ground below.

The initial estimate of this damage is approximately $80,000.

Grey Bruce OPP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the person(s) that were responsible for this damage.
