Meaford McDonald’s Manager Recognized with National Award

McDonald’s Canada has announced that Bob Schank, manager of the McDonald’s Restaurant in Meaford, has won a 2021 Outstanding Manager of the Year award, which recognizes the top performing managers across the country.

Every day, Bob works diligently beside his crew members to serve quality food, with excellent service and warm smiles to restaurant guests. In addition, his significant contribution to employee growth, marketing, and restaurant operations continues to make a positive impact on both employees and guests.

Bob’s journey at McDonald’s started in 2013 after being placed in an accelerated management program, having already been in the food service industry for 15 years. Starting in a management role at Owen Sound’s Walmart location, Bob excelled at leading a team through an adaptive communication style. Bob prides himself on his ability to make connections with crew and guests because it allows Bob to build community relationships beyond the four walls of McDonald’s. With the goal of becoming general manager of the new Owen Sound location, Bob’s trajectory is infinite as recognized by this award.

It is an honour to be receiving this award that recognizes my effort to make McDonald’s an incredible place to work and dine,” said Schank. “This award is a reflection of my amazing crew and management team and validates that when you put people first, the results are unmatched.”

Every year, McDonald’s franchisees and regional management nominate restaurant managers across the country for the Outstanding Manager of the Year award to recognize their hard work, dedication, and commitment to McDonald’s Canada and its customers.

Since joining the McDonald’s team, we’ve watched as Bob has applied his strong leadership skills, strategic business acumen, and unrivaled work ethic to our business,” said Steve Sgro, Meaford McDonald’s Owner-Operator. “This award is our way of thanking Bob for his ongoing efforts to grow and improve our engagement with both employees and guests.”

To help employees on their career path, McDonald’s Canada and its franchisees offer competitive wages, flexible work schedules and scholarship programs.
