Meaford Hall Presents Moondoggy

Since forming in Collingwood in 2019, alternative rock band Moondoggy has grown from local house shows into an internationally touring act, bringing their raw, energetic sound to audiences around the world.

The band cut their teeth performing at house parties and small venues while independently recording music and shaping their distinctive style. In 2020, Moondoggy relocated to Toronto, immersing themselves in the city’s vibrant live music scene. Regular appearances at both DIY spaces and established venues helped build a devoted following, driven by high-energy live performances and a steady stream of new releases. The band consists of Jakob Matanowitsch (vocals, guitar), Ben Matanowitsch (saxophone, acoustic guitar), Jonny Contini (lead guitar), and Victor Carrillo (drums).

In 2023, Moondoggy released their debut full-length album, Mad & Noisy, reaching an international audience and accumulating more than 14 million streams worldwide. They followed this success with a second full-length album, continuing to expand their catalogue while maintaining a consistent creative output.

Now in 2026, Moondoggy embarks on their first international tour, with dates across the United States and Europe in support of their third album, Around The Fire. These tours mark the band’s first performances outside of Canada and signal an exciting new chapter as they expand onto the global stage.

This performance is part of Meaford Hall’s ongoing commitment to presenting outstanding Canadian talent and delivering engaging cultural experiences to the community,” said Meaford Hall.
