Regarding the comment by Bruce Mason in last week’s letters, ‘But I believe it was Ken Dryden that said, “A small town in Canada that is closing its hockey rink is a small town that is dying.” And, well, hockey rinks, well, hockey rinks, cost money. Go figure.’
I lived in Brampton for just over 25 years. There used to be outdoor rinks, demographics changed, cost of outdoor rinks and maintenance, now there are more soccer fields. Soccer is a less expensive sport to play. Meaford will change, the past two years have moved the timeline up.
