Hockey Hits Cancer Tournament Raises Over $4,000 for Meaford Hospital Foundation

The organizers of the Hockey Hits Cancer 2024 tournament have announced that this year’s event has raised over $4,000 in support of the Meaford Hospital Foundation.

The annual Hockey Hits Cancer tournament, held at Meaford Community Centre March 22 – 24, brought together hockey enthusiasts and community members for a weekend of friendly competition and fundraising. Participants showcased their skills on the ice while rallying behind a common cause: supporting the vital healthcare services provided by the Meaford Hospital Foundation.

“We are thrilled to see the incredible generosity and support from our participants, sponsors, and community members,” said Mackenzie Fleming, organizer of the Hockey Hits Cancer tournament. “Their contributions will directly benefit the Meaford Hospital Foundation, helping to enhance healthcare services and make a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.”

The donation of over $4,000 will go towards supporting various initiatives of the Meaford Hospital Foundation, including the purchase of essential medical equipment to better serve the community’s healthcare needs.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered to make this year’s tournament a success,” said Amelda FitzPatrick, Executive Director of the Meaford Hospital Foundation. “Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who rely on the services provided by the Meaford Hospital.”

The Hockey Hits Cancer tournament serves as a testament to the power of community and solidarity in making a positive impact on healthcare outcomes. The organizers look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back and supporting important causes in the years to come.
