Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival Screening This Week

On Wednesday, June 21 the Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival screening will take place at the Galaxy Cinemas in Owen Sound.  This free event is open to the public. Doors open at 4:30 pm and the screening will begin at 5:15 pm.

Audience members will be treated to a screening of 10 short films created by youth from across Grey and Bruce Counties followed by an awards ceremony announcing the winners of the 2023 Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival.

This year’s films include a laundromat musical, a soldier’s spirit at the cenotaph, a case of mistaken identity, and more. The Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival provides an opportunity to see the work of young, local, amateur filmmakers. Films screened at the Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival are created for a teen audience and may contain scenes some viewers may find disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.

The Library would like to gratefully acknowledge Galaxy Cinemas Owen Sound as a major sponsor of this event as well as the support of the judges and program volunteers.

The 2023 Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival is organized by the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, with the participation and sponsorship of Galaxy Cinemas, Richard Thomas Communications, Wightman, Rogers TV Grey Bruce, the Meaford International Film Festival, Bruce County Public Library, Grey Highlands Public Library, Hanover Public Library, Meaford Public Library, Southgate Public Library and West Grey Public Library.
