On Sunday, December 7, the Goldenaires Choir pulled off a truly special event, performing their Snowfall of Songs at Meaford United Church in front of an enthusiastic crowd. The pieces included Song for a Winter’s Night, composed by Gordon Lightfoot, Christmas Goes Baroque, It’s The Holiday Season, and I Saw Three Ships, accompanied by flutist Margaret Williams.
There was also a lovely performance of Once Upon a December, with some students from Georgie Donais’s Mutable ARTS and Aerial Arts Studio dancing gracefully to the music. Another very special moment was when Allan Johnson sang Drivin’ Through the Snow – such a joyful presentation.
In short, The Goldenaires are a Meaford treasure – they volunteer so much of their time to bring the magic of music to our town, and all proceeds go towards enriching musical education locally. We can all look forward to the next concert in May.
